Gastritis is an inflammation or irritation that lining of your stomach. There are several known causes of this disease including – imbalanced diet, unresolved stress, smoking etc. It occurs either short episode or may be of a long duration.
On the basis of timing and duration, it is divided into two categories :
- Acute gastric
- Chronic gastric
1. Acute gastric :
It is a painful inflammation that lining on your stomach. It occurs suddenly, due to the damage of the tissues caused by the acid that occurs in stomach.
2. Chronic gastric :
Chronic gastric is an inflammation of the mucosal lining of stomach. It is a long term gastric that generally affect the older people. According to a survey, many people are affected with this disease in the world.
Chronic gastric are divided into three categories :
- Type A gastric : This type of gastric is a genetic gastric. It primarily affects the body and fundus of your stomach.
- Type B gastric : The main cause of this gastric is pathogens like bacteria, viruses or alcohol.
- Type C gastric : This types of gastric occurs in rare case.
Causes of Gastric :
The most common causes of gastric including :
- Infection of stomach with bacteria, named Helicobacter Pylori.
- Excess alcohol consumption.
- Weak immune system.
The less common causes of gastric including :
- Autoimmune discomfort
- Cocaine abuse
- Eating or drinking caustic or corrosive substances.
Signs and Symptoms of Gastric :
Many people that affected with gastric, do not have any symptoms. The symptoms that may be notice, including –
- Abdomen or stomach pain
- Aching in stomach
- Burning stomach
- Significant weight loss
- Feeling of fullness
- Pain in upper abdomen
- Sour test in mouth
- Heartburn after eating

If you found the symptoms than visit to your doctor. Your doctor may ask you about your personal and family medical history. Your doctor may take your physical exam and ask for some tests, including :
1. Upper endoscopy :
Endoscopy is a technique through which a doctor looks at the stomach lining by thin tube contains a tiny camera, is inserted through the mouth and down into your stomach.
2. Blood Test :
Your doctor may ask you to various types of blood test including – red blood cells, anemia test e.t.c.
3. Stool Test :
It helps to checks for the presence of blood in your stool that is one of the possible sign of gastric.
Treatments of Gastric :
The treatment of gastric are including :
1. Antacids and other drugs :
Your doctor will prescribe antacids and other drugs like – proton pump inhibitors or H-2 blockers. These drugs helps to reduce your stomach acids.
2. Antibiotics plus an acid blocking drug :
If you have a H. pylori infection type gastric, than your doctor may suggest you to take a regimen of several antibiotics plus an acid blocking drug that are generally used for heartburn.
3. B-12 vitamin :
If the gastric is occurs due to pernicious anemia, than your doctor will prescribe you to take B-12 vitamin.
4. Avoid hot, spicy and irritating foods :
Avoid to take the food which causes your gastric. avoid to take hot, spicy and irritating foods from your diet.
