Influenza, also known as ‘ Flu‘ is an infection disease, caused by influenza virus. It affects the upper respiratory system, including your lungs, throat and nose. Its symptom begins after two days of exposure of virus and lasts less than a week.

Generally it attack the people who have chronic disease or weak immune systems like young children, older adults, pregnant women e.t.c. From cough and sneezing, its virus is spreads through the air and enter your body through the mucus membranes of your nose, mouth and eyes.

It is the most common health problem in the world. According to a survey, 3,000 to 49,000 patients are deaths and 200,000 hospitalizations each year in the United States.

Types of virus :

  1. Influenzavirus A :- It is found in human, animal and wild birds.
  2. Influenzairus B :- It is found only in human.
  3. Influenzavirus C :- It is found in human, dogs and pigs.

Symptoms :-

Natural Remedy :-

Honey :

Honey contains 17% water and 82% carbohydrates and also contains low amount of fats, dietary fiver and protein.  It is also rich in Vitamin-B6. It boost your immune system and helps to reduce symptoms of the common flu.

1. Drink Honey with water :
  • Take a glass of water.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of honey in it.
  • Drink it several time a day.
2. Drink honey with hot water :
  • Take a cup of hot water.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of honey in it.
  • Add 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice in it.
  • Drink it 2 to 3 times a day.
3. Take honey with onion juice :
  • Take a bowl.
  • Add half teaspoon of honey in it.
  • Add half teaspoon of onion juice in it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Take it.

Note : Don’t give honey to the child under age 1.

Lemon :

Lemon is full of Vitamin C and Vitamin B. It contains citric acid , so acetic in nature. It is one of the best natural source of energy.

1. Drink lime water :
  • Take a glass of water.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of lime juice in it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Drink it.

Garlic :

Garlic is a natural antibiotic. Some people eat raw garlic and some drink its juice to keep the doctor away.

  • Take two raw cloves of garlic.
  • Remove its skin.
  • Grind it.
  • Filter it.
  • Drink the juice.

Stream :

Stream is an effective method for thinning mucus, making it easier to flush out of your system.

  • Take a bowl.
  • Add 1 lt. water in it.
  • Now some Leaves of neem and holy basil in it.
  • Boil it.
  • Drape a towel over your head and breathe deeply for a few minutes.
  • Do this as needed to relieve congestion.

Peppermint :

Peppermint is the herb, widely used to fight flu symptoms.

  • Take a bowl.
  • Add one tablespoon of chopped peppermint leaves in it.
  • Add one cup of hot water.
  • Let it steep for 10 minutes.
  • Add some honey to sweeten it.
  • Drink the tea while it is still warm.

Diagnosis & Prevention :

General Advice :
  1. Avoid to contact with other people where possible.
  2. Consume plenty of liquids.
  3. Avoid to drink alcohol.
  4. Avoid to smoking.
  5. Stay at home.
  6. Drink fruit juice and eat salad. The nutrients found in them boosts immune system.
  7. Take rest. It is suggested not to go for any physical work until you are back to normal.
Medicational Advice :
  1. The best way to prevent flu is to get vaccinated each year.
  2. The flu vaccine is not suitable for those people, who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs.
  3. Antibiotics are not used to treat flu.
  4. Pain killer helps in providing relief from head aches and body pain.
  5. Visit to doctor if temperature remains high after 4-5 days.
