The symptoms of the Pick’s disease vary widely from person to person. Its symptoms are usually very subtle at first and worsen slowly. Its worsening rate also varies from person to person. The people with pick disease have typically formed in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These sections control the behavior, personality, and speech of the people.

Change in behavior :

The change in behavior in the pick disease people is the most common symptoms. It affecting around two-thirds of people with Picks. It makes someone’s behavior and personality change.

 These include:

  • Increasingly the inappropriate actions.
  • Lack of judgment and inhibition.
  • Loss of empathy and other interpersonal skills.
  • A decline in personal hygiene
  • Changes in eating habits.
  • Lack of awareness of thinking.

Emotional changing :

The emotional changing in the pick disease people is another common symptoms. The people decreased the interest in daily living activities.

These includes :

  • Drastic and abrupt mood changes
  • Lack of concern, emotional warmth, sympathy or empathy
  • Anxiety
  • Agitation
  • Passivity
  • Irritability
  • Hyperactivity

Movement disorder :

The movement disorder in the pick disease people is another common symptoms.

The movement related symptoms may include:

  • Muscle spasms
  • Tremor
  • Poor coordination
  • Rigidity
  • Weakness in muscle
  • Difficulty swallowing

Change in Memory : 

In this disease, the patient’s memory lapses. His behavior changes, like – repeat statements and questions over and over, not realizing that they’ve asked the question before. They may also lose knowledge of general word meaning ( such as “it” for a book ).

Speech problem :

The people with pick disease have loss of speech. The speech may sound telegraphic with misuse of pronouns and errors in the sentence construction. The sentences may be incomplete or organized strangely.

These includes :

  • Hesitant speech
  • Diminishing vocabulary
  • Problems articulating words
  • Mutism
  • Difficulty in recalling of names or words
  • Feeble, uncoordinated speech sounds
  • Aphasia
  • Stuttering
  • Dwindling abilities for reading and writing

Change in eating habits :

The person with pick disease may begin overeating, eating greedily, eating excessive amounts of sweets, or drinking large amounts of alcohol and may gain weight.
